2. Data We Collect

Automatically collected

When you visit davidmtb.com, standard web server logs may record your IP address, browser type, and pages visited. This is standard hosting infrastructure and is not used to identify individual users.

Jump of the Month submissions

If you submit a jump clip to the Jump of the Month, we collect:

  • Rider name (the name you choose to submit under)
  • Country (selected from a dropdown)
  • Video URL (a YouTube, TikTok or Instagram link you provide)
  • Bike type and location description
  • A short description of the jump (max 100 characters)

We do not collect email addresses, phone numbers, or any account credentials for Jump submissions. Submissions are stored in our database and displayed publicly on the voting and leaderboard pages.

Votes

To prevent duplicate votes, we store an anonymous random identifier in your browser's localStorage. This identifier is generated locally on your device and is not linked to any personal information. It is not uploaded to our servers.

Shop orders

Orders placed in the davidmtb.com shop are processed by Stripe and fulfilled via print-on-demand partners. Payment and shipping information is handled entirely by those third parties and is not stored on our servers. Please review their privacy policies for details.

AI Trail Finder

The Mountain Biking AI tool sends your queries (destination, skill level, bike type etc.) to Pollinations.ai, a third-party AI service. We do not store these queries. Please review Pollinations.ai's privacy policy for how they handle API requests.

3. Cookies

davidmtb.com does not use advertising cookies or tracking cookies. We use:

  • localStorage — to store your anonymous voter ID (Jump of the Month), and to cache pages for offline use via our service worker.
  • Service worker cache — to allow the app to work offline. Cached pages are stored on your device only.

4. Third-Party Services

  • Google Fonts — fonts loaded from Google's CDN. Subject to Google's privacy policy.
  • Pollinations.ai — powers the AI Trail Finder. Your queries are sent to their service.
  • Stripe — payment processing for shop orders.
  • YouTube / TikTok — Jump of the Month vote page embeds YouTube videos. YouTube's privacy policy applies when videos load.
  • Supabase — when the Jump of the Month live mode is activated, submissions and votes will be stored in a Supabase database hosted in the EU.

5. Children's Privacy

This site is operated by a minor (under 18). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Jump of the Month submissions are public — if you are under 13, please get a parent or guardian's permission before submitting.

The site does not display advertising, does not use behavioural tracking, and does not sell any personal data.

6. User-Generated Content

Jump of the Month submissions are public. By submitting, you confirm:

  • The video you are linking to is your own content or you have permission to share it
  • The content is appropriate for a general audience
  • You are not submitting content that is dangerous, offensive, or illegal

We reserve the right to remove submissions that violate these conditions. To report a submission, use the Report button on the voting page or contact us.

7. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right to:

  • Request deletion of any Jump submission you made
  • Request access to any personal data we hold about you
  • Object to processing

To exercise these rights, contact us. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Data Retention

Jump submissions and votes are retained for the current competition month, then archived to the leaderboard. Server logs are retained for up to 30 days for security purposes.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
