Top 10 MTB Trails
in Czechia

Giant Mountains, Ore Mountains, Šumava forest. Czech bikeparks punch above their weight — massive vertical, excellent infrastructure, and prices that make Western European riders jealous.

HomeTrails › Czech Republic

The Czech Republic has built a mountain bike scene that is disproportionately impressive for its geography. The Krkonoše (Giant Mountains) on the Polish border reach over 1,600m, and the bikeparks that have developed on their flanks — particularly at Špindlerův Mlýn and Černý Důl — deliver genuine alpine-scale riding. The Ore Mountains (Krušné Hory) on the German border are lower but have excellent lift-accessed trail networks at Klinovec and Přísečnice. The Jizera Mountains near Liberec and the Jeseníky in Moravia complete a nationwide MTB scene that is expanding rapidly.

Czech MTB is excellent value by European standards — lift passes, accommodation, food, and bike hire are all significantly cheaper than equivalent Austrian or Swiss destinations. The quality is there to match. davidmtb rates Czech Republic as one of Europe's most underrated MTB destinations — especially for riders from Ireland or the UK who want proper lift-accessed gravity riding without the cost of a trip to the Alps.

"Špindlerův Mlýn — I went expecting OK riding. I got fast, technical black trails with 700m of vertical. Genuinely surprised. Czech Republic delivers."

Špindlerův Mlýn Bikepark Czech Republic
BlueRedBlack

#1 — Špindlerův Mlýn Bikepark

davidmtb Pick
★★★★★
📍 Špindlerův Mlýn, Krkonoše📏 20km trails⬇️ 700m drop

Špindlerův Mlýn is the Czech Republic's premier bikepark and one of the best gravity destinations in Central Europe. The Svatý Petr ski resort above this famous spa town provides 700m of vertical descent on a network of purpose-built trails ranging from wide green beginners' runs to seriously demanding black lines with rock gardens, drops, and bermed turns. The chairlift infrastructure is well-developed, the trail maintenance is excellent, and the base village has good accommodation and bike facilities. At a fraction of the cost of comparable Austrian parks, it's hard to beat.

Klinovec Bikepark Krušné Hory Czech Republic
RedBlack

#2 — Klinovec Bikepark

davidmtb Pick
★★★★★
📍 Jáchymov, Krušné Hory📏 15km trails⬇️ 740m drop

Klinovec is the highest peak in the Ore Mountains at 1,244m and its bikepark is one of the best in the country. The trails descend from the summit through open mountain terrain and dense forest, with a character that mixes exposed ridge riding with technical forest descents. The main red trail is long and flowing, covering almost the full 740m of vertical in one sustained descent that builds confidence beautifully. The black trails are properly gnarly — tight, rooty, and demanding. Klinovec sits just inside the Czech border from the German Erzgebirge region and is popular with German riders who know its quality.

Bukovec Jizerské Hory MTB Czech Republic
BlueRedBlack

#3 — Bikepark Bukovec, Jizerské Hory

davidmtb Pick
★★★★★
📍 Josefův Důl, Jizera Mountains📏 12km trails⬇️ 400m drop

Bikepark Bukovec in the Jizera Mountains above Liberec is a compact but brilliantly conceived trail centre that delivers an outsized experience. The terrain here is softer and more forested than Špindlerův Mlýn — rolling forest hills with natural root features, bermed corners, and creative trail design that makes full use of the modest elevation. The black trails are technically demanding in a way that rewards precision over raw speed. Bukovec is particularly popular with Czech and German riders and is within easy reach of Liberec — itself a charming small city with excellent post-ride options.

Černý Důl Bikepark Krkonoše Czech Republic
BlueRedBlack

#4 — Bikepark Černý Důl

★★★★☆
📍 Černý Důl, Krkonoše📏 10km trails⬇️ 560m drop

Černý Důl sits in the Krkonoše National Park valley below Špindlerův Mlýn and delivers a more natural, wilder trail experience than its more polished neighbour. The trails here feel more raw — less groomed, more consequence — and that suits riders who want their bikepark experience to feel earned. The lower section through the forest is particularly atmospheric, with tight singletrack through mature spruce forest that demands constant attention. A short drive from Špindlerův Mlýn makes the two centres easily combinable in a week's visit.

Kouty nad Desnou Bikepark Jeseníky Czech Republic
BlueRedBlack

#5 — Bikepark Kouty nad Desnou

★★★★☆
📍 Kouty nad Desnou, Jeseníky📏 12km trails⬇️ 600m drop

The Jeseníky mountains in Moravia are less visited than the Krkonoše but the Kouty nad Desnou bikepark delivers some of the best riding in the Czech Republic. Six hundred metres of vertical on well-built trails with a mix of natural and engineered sections — the red trails here are long and fast, the blacks genuinely demanding. The Jeseníky have a different atmosphere from the tourist-heavy Krkonoše: quieter, more traditional, and with excellent riding that isn't competing with a ski resort crowd. Highly recommended for riders making a dedicated Czech MTB trip.

Přísečnice Bikepark Czech Republic
RedBlack

#6 — Bikepark Přísečnice

★★★★☆
📍 Přísečnice, Krušné Hory📏 8km trails⬇️ 480m drop

Přísečnice sits above a dramatic reservoir in the Ore Mountains and delivers a bikepark experience with outstanding scenery alongside its solid trail network. The lake below adds a visual drama that most Czech parks lack, and the trails themselves are well-built with proper red and black challenge. Less visited than Klinovec but with genuine quality — a good choice for a quieter day riding when Klinovec is busy. The Ore Mountains as a whole are a proper under-the-radar destination that will gradually become more widely known as Czech MTB's reputation grows internationally.

Harrachov MTB Czech Republic Krkonoše
BlueRedBlack

#7 — Harrachov Bikepark

★★★★☆
📍 Harrachov, Krkonoše📏 10km trails⬇️ 580m drop

Harrachov is the westernmost resort in the Giant Mountains and borders Poland — the views from the top stretch into both countries on clear days. The bikepark delivers 580m of vertical descent on a network that makes full use of the resort's ski infrastructure, with the gondola providing easy access to the upper trails. The terrain here is more open than Špindlerův Mlýn — less forest, more exposed ridgeline — which creates a different riding character with fast, open sections alternating with tighter forest descents. Good value and less crowded than the main Krkonoše resorts.

Rokytnice nad Jizerou MTB Czech Republic
RedBlack

#8 — Rokytnice nad Jizerou

★★★☆☆
📍 Rokytnice nad Jizerou, Krkonoše📏 8km trails⬇️ 680m drop

Rokytnice is one of the more underrated Krkonoše ski resorts — less polished than Špindlerův Mlýn but with excellent natural terrain and 680m of vertical that exceeds its more famous neighbour. The trail network is smaller but the riding quality is high, with natural features and proper technical challenge on the black descents. The resort has a more authentic, less touristy feel than the spa town centres, which appeals to riders looking for a genuine Czech mountain experience over a packaged resort stay. The Jizera valley below the village is beautiful.

Řeka Beskydy MTB Czech Republic
BlueRedBlack

#9 — Bikepark Řeka, Beskydy

★★★★☆
📍 Řeka, Beskydy📏 8km trails⬇️ 400m drop

The Beskydy mountains in eastern Moravia are lower and rounder than the Krkonoše but the Řeka bikepark punches well above its modest elevation. The trail design here is inventive — creative use of natural terrain features, quality bermed sections, and a fun character that makes it popular with local riders from Ostrava and Frýdek-Místek. The surrounding Beskydy landscape is beautiful, with traditional Wallachian wooden architecture and excellent local food. A good choice for riders visiting the eastern Czech Republic or combining a Czech MTB trip with a visit to Bratislava or Kraków.

Bílá Bikepark Beskydy Czech Republic
BlueRedBlack

#10 — Bikepark Bílá, Beskydy

★★★★☆
📍 Bílá, Beskydy📏 10km trails⬇️ 460m drop

Bikepark Bílá is the larger of the two main Beskydy bikeparks and delivers a more comprehensive trail experience than its nearby competitor. The chairlift rises to 900m above the valley with well-built trails at all grades descending through the ski resort's terrain. The trail network was significantly expanded in recent years and now includes proper enduro lines as well as the standard bikepark fare. The Beskydy area is excellent for a combined MTB and culture trip — Slovak border just 30 minutes east, Rožnov pod Radhoštěm's folk architecture nearby.

davidmtb Pro Tip — Czech Republic MTB Trip Planning

Fly into Prague and head north or east depending on your target area. For the Krkonoše (Giant Mountains), the drive is 2 hours to Špindlerův Mlýn or Harrachov. For the Beskydy, fly into Ostrava or route through Prague to the east. Czech MTB is dramatically cheaper than Austrian equivalents — expect to pay 30–40% less for lift passes, accommodation, and food. The Krkonoše are the most dramatic mountains but the Jeseníky and Beskydy offer quieter, more authentic experiences. Late June through September offers the best conditions; the mountains can be unpredictable in May and early June.
