The GAP Bike Park is a privately run uplift park in South Wales known for its hand-built DH and freeride trails. It sits at the steeper, gnarlier end of the UK bike park spectrum: think big jumps, properly committed step-ups and step-downs, and lines that reward riders who already know how to read terrain at speed.

Strong intermediates upwards. If you can roll any feature at BikePark Wales and want bigger send, The GAP is your next step. It's not the place to learn โ€” there's less green/blue progression and the headline trails carry consequence.

Big bike or burly enduro. Full-face mandatory. Body armour worth thinking about for the freeride lines. Tools and spare hangers โ€” uplift days are short if you snap something on run one.

It feels like a riders' park: built by people who ride for people who ride. The features are creative โ€” not just bermed flow trails, but proper freeride shapes. David has filmed at The GAP and rates it for the variety of jumps. Compared to other UK uplift parks, The GAP rewards line choice and air-time over outright trail length; you ride fewer kilometres in a day but each run feels substantial. The on-the-day mood depends on what's been freshly shaped โ€” follow their social channels in the week before you visit.

Comparing to neighbours: BikePark Wales is wider and friendlier, Dyfi is more polished, The GAP is more freeride-focused than either. A common South Wales trip pairs The GAP with a day or two at BikePark Wales โ€” different vibes, complementary skills. Check the uplift calendar before you drive over; The GAP runs on selected days rather than every day of the week, and weather can shorten or cancel sessions. The on-site team are riders themselves โ€” ask them which lines are running well on the day.
