The Suir Valley Greenway is one of my favourite casual rides. It runs from Clonmel all the way to Cahir along the River Suir — flat, scenic, and perfect for any bike or ability level.

Difficulty⭐ Easy — suitable for all ages
ElevationMostly flat, gentle inclines
Time (MTB)~1-1.5 hours one way

What I Like About the Greenway

The river scenery is class. There's wildlife everywhere — herons, kingfishers, otters if you're lucky. The trail surface is well maintained and there are several rest stops along the way.

Starting in Clonmel, you pass through the Suir Valley with views of the Comeragh Mountains. The trail passes near Ardfinnan and into Cahir where you can visit the castle before heading back.

Tips for Riding the Greenway

Bring water and a snack — there aren't many shops once you leave Clonmel. Start early on weekends to avoid the heaviest foot traffic. Any bike works but wider tyres (2.1"+) are more comfortable on the gravel sections.
